What happens in the ring may be choreographed, but the commitment, pain, discipline, and sense of belonging behind it are entirely real.

 

Despite the intimidating surface, the community is far more welcoming and warm than I expected. This series is an ongoing exploration of what it means to belong, and what belonging gives back.
